A 10-Minute Desk Reset for Journalers

July 12, 2026 · 1 minute read

You do not need a perfect desk to make a page. You only need enough space to hear what the next page wants.

A scrapbook-style infographic titled 10-Minute Desk Reset for Journalers with five steps: clear scraps, sort papers, wipe desk, choose one page, make tea

Clear Only the Top Layer

Do not reorganize the whole room. Move loose scraps into one pile, put tools back within reach, and clear a rectangle big enough for one open journal.

Choose One Page Before You Make Tea

Pick the page while the desk is still a little unfinished. That keeps the reset from becoming another way to avoid making something.

Stop While It Still Feels Easy

The point is not a showroom desk. The point is a table that makes you want to sit down again.
